Doesn’t quite gel

My wife and I just saw Family Camp, and we both walked out of the theater fairly disappointed. The first 10-15 minutes had some good laughs, but after that it began to lose steam and focus. There are some good ideas in Family Camp, probably too many, and that keeps the movie from gelling. The tone is all over the place, without ever really letting us get to know - and like - the characters. Family Camp means well, and it’s hard not to like a movie like this, but it just didn’t come together.
