Nothing going on in the first 70 min.

The movie is over 2 hours long, and it is a disaster movie. But the disaster didn't start until later second half of the movie. I was really bored by the first half of the movie.

I can understand that but remember that in those great disaster film classics of the 1970's like THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, EARTHQUAKE, THE TOWERING INFERNO, AVALANCHE, THE HINDINBERG, AIRPORT, AIRPORT 75 & 77, nothing happens either in the first half of those films until the second half. So what is the difference between these films and HAEUNDAE which for me, was a Korean film homage to those American disaster film classics?

excellent movie with a superb korean cast!

First half is caracter building, second part shows the tsunami.

9.0 !

And these 70 minutes are the best part of the film, the rest is absolute crap.

Lol, western audiences are so ignorant. They complain about their own Hollywood movies not being good enough, then they complain about a foreign film that does something a little different with the genre. Americans are such a stubborn group of people to please.

This movie was amazing, because before showing the main and second charecters in a drastic situation, they placed the charecters in many situation like, love and misunderstanding, love or hate enter one and other, For finally know the story of all and at the end when the disaster arrived and the problem come, the scene have much feeling. it's not just like a several other action movie who fight for no reason the beginning until the end.

I don't see what's the problem. Hitchcock's The Birds is 2 hours the and bird disaster doesn't happen until an hour in. The first half plays like a romance.
