'My dog is tied up out front'

"My dog is tied up out front" she says as she is being taken away to be arrested for shoplifting. The wonderful law enforcement sped says "Just Relax" a typical cop term. Of course she has the right to maintain her possesions or at least secure them before being carted off. She gave no resistance, total compliance.

The cop wannabe kid in the supermarket is a real trip too, what kind of town is this? Pay the $50 and walk, I'll bet the kid at the supermarket gets a kick-back.

Next time your next of kin is lying in the street bleeding to death remember the advice from the wonderful law enforcement people and "just relax".

The PIG should have to pay her for the dog and pain and suffering. I would've certainly taken matters into my own hands and secured the animal no matter what, and probably come back and taken a tire iron to the punk kid from the supermarket.

Yeah, that's how I felt about it, too. And notice the big shiny cross around the cop wannabe supermarket kid's neck, too. Problem with American PIGS, though, is that if she'd have kicked up even a bit of a fuss, they might have tasered her, pepper-sprayed her, or something for failing to submit to their authoritye. And when you're that down and out, you don't have it in you the same way after awhile. Tragic, and very true to life these days. Almost half of Americans live close to the poverty line and they're criminalized for it. Prison is a for profit industry down there, and they're shoveling people in them in like coal.

I noticed that instantly actually. It certainly played a part in his indignation. And the smug attitude he gave her when she was looking for Lucy at the back of the grocery store was completely uncalled for. I would have told the kid to fĂșck off and take the dog and leave.

Was his indignation and smugness certainly stemming from Christianity? There are 2 main sources of moral guidance in an American upbringing, religious teaching and knowledge of the rule of law. The rule of law is straight crime and punishment, you get what you deserve, it is even meted out by computers now who have been preprogrammed with fines and/or jail times for set offences, like Wendy just had to get dragged through the system protocol by protocol until the till came up with her number. That was mostly comparable to the clerks simple logic of black and white, if steel - call police, if no money - no dog, she "bad" - no sympathy. It's actually the religious moral teaching that should include the room for a little grey area in life, the teachings of forgiveness and understanding should have been there as part of his own morality, there but for the grace of god go I...... "Should include" i should emphasise.

Saying you noticed the cross instantly, and your certainty about it's influence makes it sound like you have a chip on your shoulder about religion. You brought up by Catholics?

That's a strange thing to say for someone who followed me over here from another thread because they didn't like what I said. And I'm not even sure if I should even answer your questions because to be honest I can barely comprehend what you're even talking about.

I saw the cross immediately too, typical hypocrite. Oh you're down on your luck, need to feed your dog, shoplift $2.00 worth of items? Let's call the police because that's what Jesus would have wanted. Oh, then he left work in an expensive late model Volvo. I wanted to slap the shait out of him.

I hated that pink stuck up kid too. When he said "if you can't afford to feed your dog, you shouldn't own a dog". What an arrogant, ignorant remark. Coming from someone who obviously never owned a dog. I would have kicked his ass then said "if you can't defend yourself, you shouldn't be alive" !!!
