Is it the sound recording i like

I'm not sure what i like so much about this film, how it keeps my attention despite the lack of action. I've watched it three times now and i'm thinking about it again and will probably watch it a forth time soon. I'm puzzling over why i like it so much and i'm wondering if it's the sound recording. The trains going slowly by are really hypnotic, even the cars passing by somehow. From comments not all people feel the same, maybe it's because i tend to watch films on my laptop with headphones on so maybe the background sound makes a big difference. I think the film makers paid good attention to it anyway. Just a thought!

Maybe the realism is the key, rather than feeling like i'm watching a film, with all the expectation and detachment of that, the sounds put me there in that place rather than music which would keep me detached. And spending an hour and a half hanging out there is no time at all. Hence it's not boring. The more realistic the experience the more i'm put on the same time frame. I should probably stop thinking and dig the film out to watch it again.
