the movie is set for release in theatres on October 1st...it's already been advertised here in NYC. the movie is also being offered for 'rent' via the internet (itunes.com/ on demand)....however, the internet versions are DRM protected so you wouldn't be able to make a copy of it for later. if you are interested in showing it to a class, you should write/call the distributor of freakonomcis and let them know you are an educator as it's possible there's a educator's rate for the purchase.

It's airing on Showtime this month. I just watched it. As a PBS and documentary junkie (and Research Analyst by profession), I found it well-done although unfocused at points, i.e. the section on Sumo wrestling and corruption. Each section can easily have their own full-length documentary. Very thought-provoking, and great to watch with friends since there is a lot to discuss.
