Kendra's true apperance?

I wonder if the scene in which Kendra puts the curse on Kyle shows her true appearance as being normal looking or was it that show that her freakish appearance was to test Kyle to see if he would tolerate being with somebody who is not from the popular crowd.

It is. In the original story, the witch first appears to the prince as a withered old woman begging for shelter. But when he ignores her pleas, she shows herself to be a beautiful woman and puts the curse on him.

The fact that Kyle insults Kendra because of here appearance reminds me of this quote from Disney's Beauty and the beast, "Repulsed by her haggard appearance,
The Prince sneered at the gift,
And turned the old woman away." When Kendra appears beautiful before she curses Kyle,it responded to this quote, "The old woman's ugliness melted away
To reveal a beautiful Enchantress."

What MikePaul854 said. Although, it would be odd for KENDRA to have spent years(?) in disguise just to do that.

I always thought she just showed up looking for someone to test and she found him. To me Kendra wasn't even a teenager but was like hundreds of years old.
