I'm not sure how many times this has been said but I just have to say it.

Personally I don't think they made him ugly enough. All they did was just made him bald, add a few scars and some weird (yet well-designed) tatoos to his face and body. Yes the end result looks a bit intimdating, but NOT ugly (if anything, I actually think it looks FIERCE!!!).

But then again, if they HAD gone all the way and made him REALLY ugly and not "pretty" ugly, it might've driven/scared a lot of teenage girls away.

I call it bad ass, he still has the bod of a champion, if he walks into any club and calls himself beastly , he will have girls falling all over him

I agree, he was still hot and was so over-reacting, but then again it's Hollywood, they don't go "full retard" and they especially don't go "full ugly" (except in horror movies and gritty indies)

The teen witch sooooo went easy on him.

Now if the teen witch really wanted to punish him she'd make him 700lbs or make him look like Eric Stoltz in The Mask, or look like the Elephant Man, now that would be real hell, that would understandably make a guy lock himself up and not want to go out.

ITA. The book describes him as looking like a wolfish beast with fangs, claws, and fur all over his body. I'm assuming they didn't have the budget, and decided to go with tattoo-like scars. It takes away from the entire premise of the plot.

he has a cool look, its unique and girls would go gaga over him!

if he looked like elephant man THAT would be REALLY cruel and stuff!

I saw the SNL spoof of Beastly and boy did they hit it on the money.

If I was the witch I'd punish him by making him "Nerdly" something like semi pudgy and short like a young looking version of Wallace Shawn/Clint Howard/Rick Moranis, something that is bad at first but can be overcome with some work and effort. Much like how Drop Dead Diva punishes the shallow&good looking main character.

Ya I dunno about the rest of you, but I would totally shag the He-Beast over the....not beast with pretty blond hair.

He was much hotter as the Beast boy.

(So is this only a homo's opinion or are you girls with me?)

And on a side note....... I would totally get up in a witches face and attempt to publicly humiliate her, if she would make me look like him.... sadly reality is truly cruel...

(just watched the movie) ... I totally agree. Bald, tattooed and scarred he looks much better I think.

ron howard's brother clint would be perfect. he has a naturally mis-shapen head & one freaky face. or the guy from mask or that guy from the hills have eyes (original) & weird science.

Yeah, I never found him to be ugly. He just looks like a punk or something. Like, he can pass for a human being at least, unlike the Disney version of Beast.

In the book, he acatually looked like a beast. in this he looked like the type of guy who got scarred from biking into a live volcano...hard core.

I liked him more after the transformation, before he was just another pretty face. So boring =P
