Thanks: interesting read, though heartbreaking to find out that the woman who was pressured to enter a guilty plea is now destitute and still considered guilty.

It's about plea bargains and is very interesting and shocking!
I find none of this shocking. I find it enraging. I find it typically. But shocking? Not at all. Only a naive person would find any of this Shocking. That or they are in denial and part of the problem. Not saying that is you public-online, but those people are out there.
Shocking does not mean surprising. One doesn't have to be naive to be shocked (or enraged) when confronted to injustice.
And honestly, even if I am not (totally) surprised, I know for a fact that many ppl would be if they actually took the time to learn a bit more.
Some ppl truly don't know, and then some ppl simply don't want to know.
Deliberate ignorance is one of the worst American afflictions imho...
