shareI'm big fan. of Rich Franklin. I don't really know whats next for him. He's obviously the no 2 middleweight in the UFC. Unfortunately he's probably going to have to win three or four more fights just to get a shot at Silva again. Lutter is getting knocked out in the 1st round though.

Rich is the best. Now that Silva moved up a weight class I am not sure where the title stands. They ususally have interim bouts when that happens but no word on that yet.
shareThe move up to light heavyweight for Silva was just temporary and something he may go back and forth on. He's still the Middleweight champion and is scheduled to defend it against either Yushin Okami or Patrick Cote around October.

shareThe only reason Silva even fought at that weight class was: Affliction was putting on their PPV event, Dana wanted to put on a show to compete and steal viewers from them. Dana knew Silva would be a big draw but he didnt have the time/didnt want to cut weight on such short notice. So they threw him in a fight he didnt have to train and cut for that everyone knew he would win and said he was "fighting in a higher weightclass" rather than just saying he'd be fighting at his walk-around-weight. at least that was my take on it.
and to stay on topic, I'll be watching this movie tonight. heres to hopin' its got some good action.
how bout a scream of horror? what is it with MMA fighters doing crappy action movies? Bas, Fry, Crocop, Tito, Couture, now Franklin?
Sadly I have yet to see any of these guys' roles in these movies not totally suck. The exceptions are Liddell and the Miletich crew (Markham, Lawler, Rothwell, Pat himself, etc) in Death and Life of Bobby Z and maybe Couture in Redbelt. MMA fighters should not be trying to jump into lead roles until they are legitimately talented and experienced actors.
shout!...maybe rich is looking for a career on the silver screen...because he was a gatekeeper at MW and i don't think he will accomplish much at LHW, he is a great fighter...it's almost a shame anderson had to come along and thai knee him of his throne, or else he would still dominate MW imo

Rich is a great Champion, and a great person. A shame Anderson is better. Well, not really a shame, but, oh well.

He was a math teacher at the school I'm at now and every time he fights that's all people at school talk about.
He's actually an inspiration to me to get into MMA and getting into really good shape.
A great fighter and martial artist(yes there is a difference) and a truly great human being. Good luck in all aspects of life. "One more round champ".
