Almost every scene...

I'm at a point right now where I don't care much for reading too deeply into movies. Call me simple, but I'd rather just enjoy myself, depending on the movie of course. I didn't watch this movie to discuss it afterwards. I watched it with my fiancee and we just wanted to watch a movie for entertainment purposes.

I also don't care to read too much into "were they depicted as stereotypes? Is this offending someone?" blah blah blah. As far as a movie likes this goes, it's more or less accurate, skipping on the 100% accuracy and dynamics of the culture. It was ok. I didn't hate it and I didn't love it. I saw it once and once is fine enough for me.

That said, one thing that really got my goose was the constant reminder of how they're Puerto Rican. Literally. They would say it. "C'mon, we're Puerto Rican." "You look like a Puerto Rican blah blah blah." "Puerto Rican Meryl Streep." Yadda yadda yadda. I felt like I was watching a Tommy Wiseau movie whenever that happened.

I didn't mind. It is what it is. They're Puerto Rican.! ooooohhh!

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

I said the same thing....but idk, I notice that in a lot of movies starring ppl of color and its like, "Okay, we know you're ___. That's not the most important thing about this movie!"

I really like the movie though!
