SO I found out that Vanessa Ferlito is actually Italian American from Brooklyn which explains that accent of hers. I wanted to scream "SHE'S FROM BROOKLYN!" lol Or maybe I'm just hearing things. But I live in Jersey so I'm pretty familiar with Brooklyn accents.

I have nothing against actors playing other races/ethnicities as long as they can pull it off. (That's what acting is all about right?) I mean if the entire cast was non-latino, then I would be annoyed because there ARE talented latino actors out there.

im from nyc and it was pretty clear to me that she is from brooklyn, but otherwise she fit the character. I kind of wish she had been latino because i kept thinking "she's italian!" in parts that involve speaking spanish or dancing spanish music. Still, she pulled it off well.

She did pull it off. Especially the dancing. I'm not saying she danced like a professional (many latinos don't) but she danced as if she grew up listening to the music.

My boyfriend who is sicilian is from where she's from and Red Hook BK is made up of Italians & Puerto Ricans. Vanessa also said her best friend is PR. If any of u's saw her in Undefeated u will see how well she does play a PR.

i already knew she was probably italian by the last name. ferlito is italian. and she's ugly. i've seen way sexier italians. but i can't stand to see hispanics portayed by non-hispanics in movies/tv, especially if they're white. like there aren't anymore hispanic actors out there?

I don't think she's ugly. She's rather funny looking but in a nice way. She looked quite pretty in this movie.

I don't mind that they cast one Italian as a Hispanic. It's not as bad as what they did with 'Memoirs of a Geisha'.

The accent did bother me. Is she nasal?

But her nose bothered me more (looks like she had her nose made smaller and the doc messed it up). I'm watching the film now (and wanted to see who the actress is) she's the only thing wrong with the film for me.

Agreed (except for the stomach flipping..lol)! Vanessa is a HOTTIE, and her BODY is that NICE, dare I say, "latin thick"...just the way I LOVE! Her lapdance scene in the extended cut of Tarantino's Death Proof is MOUTH WATERING! I LOVE that body and I'd welcome that in heartbeat!
