Never finished this, so doing a re-watch...

Thank you, Hulu Plus. I don't remember why I couldn't watch all of it the first time around... anyway it's been a while so I figured, start from the beginning again so I'll know what's going on when I get to the last season.

And it's every bit as charming and fun as I remembered, except, about halfway through the first season, one thing is driving me nuts: This endless narrative that everything is Erica's fault! People are terrible to her, that means she's overreacting. They treat her badly, she apologizes. They're inconsiderate and thoughtless, she does them favors. They're not all terrible people (though some of 'em are and I think she should dump them), but every time someone else behaves badly, Erica takes responsibility for it.

The way it's told, we're supposed to approve of this. I do not. Erica has her faults, but everyone else's faults are not also her fault.

The point of Erica's "therapy" is to examine HER role in the events that have shaped her past. This is true of us all. We cannot affect how others behave to us but perhaps we can understand or at least more objectively understand OUR OWN part in their reactions and perhaps change to benefit OURSELVES!
