More Hippy Liberal BS against a proper economy!!!

You guys took a break from hugging trees to make this movie? So now we're supposed to give water away for free????!!! The greatest resource ever known to mankind and we're supposed to just give it away? You pinko nutjobs are the worst! What you're advocating is communism and that's the truest form of evil!! Even kids in third world countries would prefer to drink a refreshing bottle of Poland Spring than slaking larva-infested sludge every day. So now they have an incentive to make money to buy bottled water from companies that ensure the quality of their product. The water companies are doing the world a favor. Stop whining, get a job, and shut up!

**Note: I don't actually believe any of this, but tell me these boards won't be poisoned with this kind of sentiment in the coming months. It never ceases to amaze me how so many seemingly intelligent people can argue for the most inhumane policies. Perhaps I expect too much of human beings to accept that an evil and monolithic philosophy is currently determined to create a living hell on earth.**

So what is your real beef here?

Funny! I almost believed you were a dittohead until the third or fourth line. I'm a moderate liberal who just saw the film in Blacksburg, Va. I think there is some idealism presented in the film which will need to be compromised when such matters come to the Senate floor. But, there are definitely some good points. I know the city water in Eden, NC, was filled with contaminants which were quite disturbing. I also drink bottled water regularly, and while this film won't stop me from doing that, it will make me try to drink from independent regional bottlers as opposed to big multi-national conglomerates, like Nestle, which would be better for my region's economy as well. I think one of the problems environmental documentary films will continue to have is that corporate reps, though a few did talk in this film, will refrain from presenting their side which will make the filmmakers look even more subjective, but that is not always the intention of a given filmmaker.

Rofl dude I somehow thought you were serious all the way up to the note. I'm not used to those kinds of ideas so anything sounds legitimate to me.

reply

By that I mean, it sounded like it could have been legitimately serious, not legitimately true... And I couldn't tell because I never hear people speak those kinds of ideas...

Yes.

Fascinating: pinko + nutjob + communist + evil + whiner + unemployed = shut up
