So much admiration
I have a great amount of admiration for the people in this film. Larry (guy with the punching bag) truly was a hero. He was the only one floating around and trying to help people when he was first shown, and after he helped take everyone in Kim's attic to the two-story house across the street, he just went on his way to find more people to help. It's made even more touching when we discover that he and Scott were enemies before the disaster. I'm really glad to see how most of them overcame the situation they were in before the hurricane, but it gave me even more disdain for the government with how poorly they were treated. I'm particularly appalled by Wink's statement about how everyone in the jail was just left to die and had to survive by eating toothpaste and paper. Sure, criminals don't necessarily deserve to live freely within society, but they still deserve to live.
"Why do you find it so hard to believe?"
"Why do you find it so easy?"
"It's never BEEN easy!"
