Jamel Debbouze ne tournera finalement pas la comédie satirique "Micmacs à tire-larigot" de Jean-Pierre Jeunet en raison d'un différend financier et d'une divergence artistique sur le personnage.

Micmacs à tire-larigot sans Jamel Debbouze ! L'acteur, qui devait camper le héros de cette comédie satirique de Jean-Pierre Jeunet sur les marchands d'armes, ne fera finalement pas partie de l'aventure en raison d'un différend d'ordre financier et d'une divergence artistique sur le personnage. Jamel Debbouze n'est pas le seul à avoir fait faux bond au cinéaste, puisque qu'Albert Dupontel, également pressenti au casting de ce film à gros budget - 27 millions d'euros, ne lui a pas non plus donné suite. Malgré ces défections, les sociétés productrices du long métrage, Epithète Films, Tapioca Films et Warner Bros. France, ne devraient pas remettre en cause le tournage fixé au mois d'avril.

Despite these issues, the producers Epithète Films, Tapioca Films and Warner Bros. France, shouldn’t drop the fiming of Micmacs à tire-larigot expected for april.

Interesting. As I watched toward the ending of the film I kept thinking how great Jamel would have been in this and that he must have been approached at some point about it appearing in this.
My hunch was right...he was approached to be in it, originally. Dany Boon was great & Jamal would have been great also.
