'Escape the Mines' + treasure chests

I'm having trouble all the treasure chests on this level. So far I have 9 out of 10 but the last is always just out of reach. When you're in the carts the first and you have to unlock three switches, you come across one switch on the right, but on the left, a short distance away, is very hard to get at. I use the PC version on my laptop so the constant motion of the carts is hard on the video card. Do I need to time my left lean right or do I need a certain character to reach it? Also, when you smash open the 3 overhead bins in the 5-switch level, the chest appears, but its very difficult to get, even if you beside it and lean out.

What do I do?
