No sh!t. The WTF is that you do not need a second rate sequel to a masterpiece. And in no way should you compare this to the Godfather or Star Wars. The original creators worked on all those film sequels. This is a cheap rip off trying to cash in on the name of the first one. Yeah, I know Jake LaMota is the writer but this sounds like crap.

What it really is about is MGM using their vast film library and remaking cheaper and inferior versions of these movies (See the "Pink Panther", "Carrie", "Red Dawn" and the upcoming "Carrie" as examples of this ("Robocop" is different, it will cost $100m)). Another example has been the poor versions of their DVD's (Done with Fox) that have been coming out the past several years. The only way to stop them is don't see these films (Particularly "Robocop" due to the price tag), or buy their DVD's. "Raging Bull" II will not kill MGM if it flops (Because it only costs $13m to make), but "Robocop" might. In an ideal situation, MGM sells "James Bond" to Columbia, and the rest of the film library to a Warner Bros or Paramount that would remake films right.
