Another Remake?

Wow!! A movie about chain letters. People seem really excited thinking that it's somthing new. I was searching the internet and I can't really tell if it is purely coincidence or not. When "One Missed Call" trailer came out my first thought was that it seemed oddly familiar to a Japanese film I heard about and come to find out it is a remake.
"Chain Letter" I'm sure it is most likely a another Japanese remake of a film entitled "Chain". So don't think that this is actually new. It may be new to most of America maybe. It's just like when the Ring, The Grudge, and One Missed Call came out. I'm not dissing the remakes or anything. I'm kinda looking forward to see this movie. Kinda...i'm not sure if my stomach could handle it.

I didn't find any information crediting this as a Japanese remake. The story is too similar to be a coincidence. If it is, Wow! that's just weird and crazy!

I thought Chain Letter was an asian remake but i can't find any evidence anywhere.

I thought it was a remake of the french movie 'Mauvais Prèsage', which has a similar story.

Mauvais Presage?.. I'll have to check that out and see what the similarities are to Chain Letter.

Yeah its a remake from the Japanesse movie "Chain"

Then the sequal in Japan was "Chain- Rensa Jusatsu"

The first link dosnt explain the movie at all just that it is some Japanesse Actresses first roll. The sequal link tells a lttle of the plot of the story which is the same as Chain Letter.

honestly, it looks like the ring remake to me (though i only saw a trailer), here they get a letter, in the ring they watch a tape, in both they ignore it and get killed one by one, than they figure out they have to pass it on.. and i was so excited when i saw the cover and the title -_- i'm so disappointed, though i'll watch it, maybe i'm wrong and it'll be different somehow..

The use of technology made me feel like it was a remake of a J-Horror movie. Except they generally deal with the undead in their movies, while America tends to love to use serial killers.
