Koichi Sato + Mirai Shiida - somewhat unlikely but REAL chemistry
I watched them together in a somewhat shallow but quite well directed romantic TV melodrama, "Sapuri", in which they played supporting roles as an estranged
father and daughter suffering through a hastened reunification owing to the mother's pursuit of a music career.
I immediately noticed a chemistry between them that was just so real; their scenes together absolutely superb, lifting an ordinary weekly TV show to a
much higher level.
This film reconfirms one of the greatest pairings in contemporary Japanese
cinema. They work just so well together.
