Go see this movie!

I saw this movie last night at the AFI Dallas film fest. What a great movie. The film really captures the dysfunctional co-dependency of east texans in a way that i found really touching. I found that the film maker had absolutely no fear of poverty, drugs, and family and the audience is much better off for it.

the movie is challenging and progressive and the story is very compelling. bravo, i am very happy we didn't go see "forgetting sarah marshall" instead!

I would really like to go and see this movie, especially after watching the trailer, reading the synopsis. I've always had a thing for such kind of movies. Telling a story with characters that feel real, having "guts", not being shallow. I really can't stand these "pretender" movies, you know, trying to be meaningful and deep because hey it's about this dysfunctional family or sth. like that, but while you're watching it, you're feeling nothing - only seeing fake characters and fake emotions...So, that's why I really want to watch "Cook County". Seems like it is one of the exceptions.... The only problem is, as I am not even from the US, I have no idea how long I have to wait to see it. Maybe it will be shown at some festival in Europe what I highly doubt, maybe, one day, it will be released at cinema or even later on DVD. That's kinda annoying with having a deep affection for "smaller" movies. It takes ages till one can finally watch them. So, it seems that I have to be patient...

i feel ur pain. im all the way in australia. as much as i hate to do it all i can do i wait till someone uploads it onto the net and then watch some dodgy version of the movie with none of the proceeds going to the film makers. its very annoying. im just dying to watch this The Favor, the Go-Getter and Explicit Ills. they all look so good and yet none of them are on dvd or even the internet. and im so impatient!!!!!
