Howcome in all three movies all the artifacts were biblical?

Howcome in all 3 movies all the artifacts they wanted to get were of biblical origins or related to the bible?

Were these movies made by christians, or do people think religious artifacts are the only ones people want?

reply

hey how are ya, just finished watching the trilogy recently

you're right about the artifact for each movie being of biblical origin, but this could be explained that these items are already in common knowledge to its target audience (USA)and dont requre as much back story or explanation.

But in the seemingly ever expanding library there were plenty of none biblical items which had been collected on previous quests, like Blackbeards treasure, Excalibur and the Fountain of Youth (not 100% sure if the last one is biblical or not)

about your last question, well i guess some them were Christians and probably other religions too, but i doubt this movie was created for the bible belt

on a final note, despite them being tele-movies i really enjoyed all 3 movies
and it was a bit disappointing there hasnt been a fourth movie made.

There was a fourth movie planed for 2010 but it never came to be.

It didn't really bother me.

At one point in the second film Flynn wipes his sweaty face with the Turin shroud by accident, then looks disgusted as he puts it away. I don't think a real bible thumper would have put that in the movie.

Excalibur and the Fountain of Youth are definitely non-biblical. Probably the reason for so much biblical stuff is, as mentioned above, that the legends are familiar to the target audience, and also that they go thousands of years back in history, thus making them spooky and impressive. The problem with more recent history is that modern science can debunk most of it. Other cultures, such as the far east, would have their share of legendary stuff, but most Westerners would not be familiar with it.

There is no mention of a Judas chalice in the bible.

In the movie, Flynn mentions THE chalice and says it's wooden and about this high and they already have it in the library. Meaning they have the actual chalice of the bible.

The JUDAS chalice is totally made up as is all the vampire stuff.
