Reviews have been Great

From the Guardian:

It may not be sentimental, or sensational, but hell, it's moving. I certainly choked up. Of course, this has a lot to do with the events themselves. (Tom's parents, who are divorced, both took active parts in the film's development to ensure its accuracy.) But it's also the poignant little details - a bad-tempered family row over dinner about whether young Freddy would like falafel or not; the other brother Billy's sleeping bag vigil outside Tom's hospital room - which make it all so incredibly human.

yeah like The Guardian's ever been impartial about the Middle East ?

Got any opinions of your own or are you letting a newspaper do your thinking for you ?

I don't know, or care, whether the Guardian has been impartial about the Middle East or not. My comment has to do with the film, The Shooting of Thomas Hurndall and the fact that it recieved a glowing review particularly around the acting.

But I can see by your other comments that you are just one of those commentors who feel it's their duty to agitate. I guess everyone needs a hobby.

Indeed and it doesn't involve murdering Jews

"Indeed and it doesn't involve murdering Jews"
I believe that the drama depicts Anthony Hurndall's (played by actor Stephen Dillane) shock and anger as he watches television news footage (apparently authentic?) following the murder of three people (with many others injured - a figure of 50+ is mentioned) in Tel Aviv by two British nationals whilst he was in Israel.

Whilst I too remember with shame this atrocious, disgraceful incident carried out by my fellow countrymen, it must be pointed out here that few -if any- television cameras (e.g. James Miller's) are ever permitted to film the murders committed weekly within the Occupied ["disputed"] Territories, in particular the Gaza Strip.

Poor Tom Hurndall had only a still camera - and he wasn't even using it as he ran to collect those two young girls. He was no less innocent than the victims in Tel Aviv, and -as far from the mindset of a murderer as one could be- he deserves no less than all our respect for his selfless compassion towards others.

Well said AHC. As long as there people like Theo Robertson - blinkered, repeating a mantra and refusing to look at a case objectively on its merits - it is unlikely there can be meaningful and lasting peace in the Middle East, which in itself is tragic.

There was no excuse for what happened to Tom - whatever else may be happening doesn't change that.
