am I seriously the only person...

that thought the dancing in this film was aboslutely horrendous?

First of all, the girl that played Kate could hardly dance en pointe correctly. Her feet were sickled beyond belief, and did you see her attitudes? UGH. I don't even know what she was doing. Her turnout was not the greatest, either. Could they not find better dancers (or actors)?

And the Swan Lake pas de deux that Suzanne and Tommy did was really stiff and unfeeling. I dunno if it was the circumstances in the film, or it was their lack of ability, but I didn't enjoy it at all.

My mom and I are pretty big fans of the first Center Stage. I'm not a dancer, but my mom was and my sister is, and I'm a huge fan of ballet so I know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, if you haven't seen the film, please stray away and just stick with the original.

if you'd done some reading through the threads (which some might argue is a common courtesy), you would know that no, you are not the only one who noticed. but again, that was the point of the movie, if you didn't notice--the lead wasn't supposed to have perfect technique, she was supposed to have "fire," a performance quality, that cannot be taught.

myself i'm always irked by the performance quality trumps technique argument, but there it is.

You should read the "so I'm watching this right now..." thread! I posted numerous times on how awful the ballet was. I have such a distaste for this sequel.
They complained about Jodi's dancing in the first one, but she was actually good for not having "the body" or "the feet"!
But this Kate.... I couldn't see why she supposedly had that "wow" factor. It was more like an EWW WHAT THE HECK TYPE OF DANCING IS THAT factor.
This movie was like a ballet holocaust, except for Ethan Stiefel, who only did like 1 minute of dancing.

BOOOOO HISSSSSSSS
