Surprisingly graphic sex scene...

Just an observation, quite surprised by the poolside shagging scene. Knowing how censorship tends to work these days the gratuitous violence didn't shock me, but the quite graphic sex scene raised my eyebrows. Not particularly complaining.

reply

I always question the morality of sex scenes in films. However this was normal for a horror film.

Check out the Fiday 13th re-make; the sex scene there is very similar to this one.

reply

This scene shouldn't come as too big a surprise considering FD3 had nudity in the tanning salon scene.

reply

while writing my writing here, I thought about that scene also, the Friday the 13th 2009 sex scene, now THAT was a sex scene. the best sex scene in legitimate movie history.

reply

It reminded me of the long sex scene in the Friday The 13th remake.

I remember watching the "Friday the 13th"-remake but I can't recall any sex scene...

It's a great scene.

I got a boner from it.

The sex scene felt very out of place. It reminded me of the long sex scene in the Friday The 13th remake. Not graphic but out of place.

MovieKid100's mom is a prostitute. One Direction sucks. You're Next failed. What else is new?

reply

I'd agree with you if those weren't the only entertaining scenes respectively in these two crappy movies.

It is true though that the "Friday the 13th" movie started a new trend of rather graphic sex scenes in horror movies. Witness the "My Bloody Valentine" remake, "Wrong Turn 4", "Piranha 3-D", and the recent film "Plus One" (which unlike the rest was actually pretty good). I suppose this is preferable to the previous trend of PG-13 horror, but they need to find more of a balance maybe. . .

reply

I don't agree at all. if you watched a slasher film from the '80s you would watch much longer and much more explicit sex scenes than what they are showing us in horror films nowadays. and, no, the trend in Friday the 13th 2009 didn't work it's way into the My Bloody Valentine remake because it came out just a month after Friday the 13th. Wrong Turn 4 has one of the most explicit sex scenes I have ever seen in a movie ever. I mean oh my gosh, it's porn, it's just like watching a porno except without the penetration, my gosh, I couldn't believe, I've never seen anything like it in a legitimate movie. to me, it's more explicit than the sex scene in Friday the 13th because it doesn't just have one couple it has 2 and in the same room! what in the world and one couple is a lesbian couple, that was unprecedented. don't you agree? I don't remember a sex scene in Piranha 2010.

reply

The sex in 80s films is nothing compared to what we have now, there was just more of it. The films featured more sex, but it wasn't as graphic as it is today due to the stronger censorships of the time. Also just to clear something up My Bloody Valentine (2009) came out before Friday the 13th (2009) at least in North America. Also yeah that Wrong Turn 4 sex scene was basically porn, I mean I expect sex in horror films but come one people. Also if you don't remember sex in Piranha 2010 it's because there really wasn't a full blown sex scene in the film just tons upon tons of nudity

reply

the sex in '80s films was a lot more explicit than in nowadays movies. you are completely wrong in saying that the sex in '80s movies wasn't as graphic as it is today due to the stronger censorships of the time. uh, it's so obvious that '80s films have much stronger sex scenes and much more per movie sex scenes as far as movie per movie, sex scene and nudity shown per movie than nowadays movies. more movies in the '80s have sex scenes than nowadays and the sex is much stronger, as in much more nudity is shown and for longer amounts of time than in the sex scenes of nowadays. just look at Friday the 13th part 5 and the sex scene out on the grass my gosh, that's explicit and it was that way until about 1984 or 1985. the video nasty list made making explicit sex and violence in horror movies hard to show, but before 1985 you could show a lot more hardcore violence and hardcore sex and nudity in movies. nowadays in PC America as far as sex goes, you can't show anywhere near the amount of sex and nudity that you could in the early to mid '80s. that's why so many times we get watered down, kid friendly, PG13 horror movies and that's why so many movies nowadays shy away from showing nudity in sex scenes. it's because we still live in a sexually repressed country even though we are so accepting of the gays in this country, it doesn't make any sense. the stronger censorships of the time compared to nowadays? uh, yeah right. we have the strongest censorship in movies right now in terms of sex and nudity than we have ever had, much, much stronger than in the mid to late '80s. that's why so many movies have tame sex scenes where no nudity is shown.

actually My Bloody Valentine(2009)didn't come out before Friday the 13th(2009)Friday the 13th(2009)came out in January of 2009 and My Bloody Valentine(2009)came out in February of 2009. actually there isn't any sex in Piranha(2010).

reply

Okay let me start off by saying that there is tons of sex in 80s movies but none of the Friday the 13th sex scenes from the 80s were as graphic as the ones in the remake. Also Wolf of Wall Street, the sex in that film was really explicit. The gay orgy in their apartment perhaps, they could never show that in mainstream films in the 80s. The thing about sex being rarer in films is that a lot of times it's uncessecary. 80s films were using more sex because it was relatively new to movies as sex scenes hadn't really been seen in mainstream media so throughout the late 60s and into the 90s sex was more commonly found in films nowadays the graphic sex just happens less, but when it does it's far more graphic then 80s sex scenes, but in the 80s there were just more of them. Finally check your facts about My Bloody Valentine (2009 and Friday the 13th (2009) My Bloody Valentine came in January as Friday the 13th was released on Friday February 13th 2009, since most of those films are actually released in Friday the 13ths it only makes sense that they released it then. I also remember seeing it in theatres because I had just turned 15 and I had to go with my older sister to see it. So the 80s had more sex in general but the sex nowadays when it actually happens tends to, but isn't always more graphic and also why do we need sex in every single movie, what does it really do to forward the plot honestly

reply

The 80's had more nudity, but sex scenes are more graphic these days.

reply

what are you talking about with this: The thing about sex being rarer in films is that a lot of times it's uncessecary? are you talking about '80s movies or nowadays movies?

reply

Nowadays, there is on average less sex in movies today then there was in the 80s. All i'm saying is that the sex today when it happens is far more graphic. Yes 80s films feature more nudity but nudity isn't sex. Sex is sex

reply

you didn't answer my question:
what are you talking about with this: The thing about sex being rarer in films is that a lot of times it's uncessecary? are you talking about '80s movies or nowadays movies?

reply

I did answer your question I said nowadays. Nowadays sex happens a lot less in movies, just that when it does it's more graphic

you're wrong in saying that sex happens a lot less in movies nowadays than it did in the '90s. and this is really interesting that we are discussing this topic right now because while watching deadpool today I thought, gosh nowadays in movies they always have to have a graphically shown, and slutty, dirty, perverse style sex scene. back in the '80s when they would make a sex scene it was clean, romantic, basic, and conventional, and beautiful. but nowadays they always have to put a grungy, filthy, perverse, hardcore style, girl is making porn style, dirty, getting off noises while they have sex, sex scenes. I don't like this. and what's weird is it seemed like they were going for a romantic scene, so, it's weird that they would make it raunchy and dirty. well, the reason for this is the pervasive porn industry and internet porn.

reply

I've seen Deadpool as well and yes the sex in it was strong but out of all of this year's releases that I've seen this is the first to feature sex. I've seen at least three other films from this year that had they been made in the 80s would have contained sex. Also romantic... did you watch Fatal Attraction, there was nothing romantic about that sex in that film and I agree, the sex today is far more graphic what I'm saying is that there were more films in the 80s that featured sex and nudity. Sex and Nudity aren't in films as often today as they were 25 years ago

reply

reply

no, I don't remember any sex in Piranha 2010 because there was no sex in Piranha 2010. you're wrong about the stronger censorship in movies in '80s movies compared to nowadays. back in the '80s censorship was less strict than it is now. that's why it's so hard to show sex in movies nowadays but it's a lot easier to show violence in movies nowadays in the us. and nudity was everywhere in movies in the '80s whereas nowadays it's not. the sex scene in wrong turn 4 is really ground breaking and is a benchmark in the annals of horror movie and movie history. it is these things because there had never been a sex scene that graphic and that ridiculously sexually advanced and progressive that had ever been made before it. I mean it's not only graphically shown but it's a taboo scene also because it features a straight couple having sex and a lesbian couple having sex, and in the same room, at the same time! I mean it's an amazing scene. I don't know how in the world they got away with it. it's so controversial. and then later on the lesbian couple have sex again, geez.

reply

what? what are you talking about? slasher movie have always been about gratuitous sex scenes and nude scenes.

reply

what's out of place? it's a sex scene people have sex all the time, no matter what time it is.

reply

wow, I don't even remember a sex scene. Though I somewhat remember some woman not being satisfied sexually.... but that's very typical. This film really bummed me out, haha. Nothing had a point to it.

It was just here are some gruesome deaths.... but they didn't really happen... here are some real gruesome deaths, and here is another, just kidding, that wasn't real either... ha got you, stupid audience... anyways... here are some more deaths and we're done. Who would have thought this franchise would end up so irrelevant? haha, just kidding, I think we all did.

I'm going to have to watch the first sometime soon and remember why I loved it. I may even whip out the second one as the first death sequence was pretty epic and possible, plus it added depth to the death mythology and was still somewhat funny.

I do have a wish... let the next sequel fail. Please. Hollywood can't be allowed to think that they can be this lazy with their story telling. I'd rather see more remakes than more stupid sequels. We as horror fans don't get a whole lot of quality or quantity when it comes to Hollywood horror, and we need to not pay opening weekend prices for crap. They can do better. We deserve better. Gruesome deaths are cool, but there is more to cinema than that. There has to be something more to be excited about. Something with depth, maybe?

reply

wow, I don't even remember a sex scene.
Neither do I. Must have been incredibly graphic!

reply

LOL! Two and a half years later I've watched this lame movie again and still haven't seen anything apart from some dude getting stuck on the bottom of a pool.🐭

reply

wait a second, didn't you see the ending montage of kill scenes from this entire series so far at the end of this movie? so, the whole series has been about killing people in different and unique ways.

reply

It's pretty short, but hot.

reply

exactly, it's definitely sexy and explicit enough to masturbate to, I did, but it was way too short, so it's disappointing because of that. it needed to be at least 30 seconds longer and she should've shown her bush and her ass more and her pussy.

reply

exactly, oh my gosh, I can still remember being really excited and sexually aroused by it. it's a short scene but an extremely titillating scene. and also a surprisingly graphic sex scene. I was surprised that they got away with it. there is just something really graphic and realistic about it. I know what it is, it's the fact that she is grinding on him. I mean this is usually not shown in movies. maybe usually they show a guy banging a girl from behind or they show a guy hitting it from the front, but usually women don't ride a guy in a sex scene in a movie.

reply

It is the least sexual or graphic sex scene possible. It is simply there for a comedic beat.

reply

when I first saw that scene in a theater, I was really surprised by how graphic it was also. geez, it's so sleazy, realistic, graphic, sweaty, intense, and like you are actually watching 2 people f. It was definitely one of the most graphic sex scenes I've ever seen in a Hollywood movie. another one is the sex scene in Never Back Down 2 with Jillian Murray. my gosh, the guy actually lowers his di#@ into her!!! did you notice that?
