The Movie was Made in Germany by Germans

with one American actor. Obviously it was made for the US market since it was done in English But since it was set in the German countryside, why not throw a few location shots of some German village & have some people actually speaking German? Jeez, for all you can tell, it was shot on Long Island for all the local color it lacked.

What are they doing? Why do they come here?
Some kind of instinct, memory, what they used to do.
