David Lynch Rip Off !!!???!!!

Is it just me or was this movie (as good as it was) just a big David Lynch rip off?
I noticed it around a quarter into the film that it reminded me of Lost Highway, in style....
and then I realized that the story is a gay porn world version of Inland Empire.
Did anyone else notice this????...
No one has said very much about this film on here.....so was just wondering.

Every review I've read mentions the David Lynch connection. The film's first two stories were interesting enough, then it completely goes nowhere and becomes a total bore with the third. Interesting photography and atmosphere a good movie does not make, the floundering script does this one in which is a pity, because it had promise.

It is obviously a film in the David Lynch tradition. But it's no more of a rip-off of David Lynch than "Dressed to Kill" is a rip-off of Hitchcock or "Another Woman" is a rip-off of Bergman or "The Living End" is a rip-off of Godard. Even early Hitchcock can be called a rip-off of Murnau, early Bergman a rip-off of Marcel Carne, etc. As a low-budget gay film in the tradition of Lynch, I thought it was pretty good that had it's own things to say. Hell, form meets content considering it's about the nature of copying and having one's essence appropriated… Discuss.
