For all the Haters

For all the haters of the movie, i think this movie was brilliant. The thing that made it brilliant was its wasnt melodramtic like most of the movies the Bollywood movie machine seems to churn out where there seems to be tear jerking momment every 3 mins or so, theres some realism to it.. the guy in the city one second and the french alps next whats that about. Making the movie a breath of fresh . The comedy was good but it followed more like hollywood comedy rather than the bollywood style which again felt different. The Auditorium we were in were filled with Laughter all the way through so i know the people inside loved the film as much as i did. I expcted Sly and Brandon to have more parts in the movie but just have them in this movie was a privlidge.I would have actually hope the movie was slightly longer and seen sims and viraj's relationship build more,i know theres a few parts that have been cut and sensored in this movie as in the flash back scene with Sim at the end you see scenes which you didnt see in the movie . I hope bollywood continue to make more colabrations with hollywood.. To enjoy this movie you have to watch it as if your watching hollywood movie rather than your bog standard bollywood flick to truly enjoy it.All in all ive given this flick on imdb 9.0

You lost me at "theres some realism to it".

" You lost me at "theres some realism to it". "

Why do you think there isn't any realism to it? He didn't say the whole film is realistic. What film is anyway? Im tired of all these people who have watched bollywood films from back in the day and can't just appreciate what is being made now. They watch modern bollywood films with smug looks on their faces thinking "Oh but when Amitabh Bachchan was young, his films were so much better!" IF YOU DON'T LIKE THESE NEW TYPES OF FILM WHY DO YOU ALWAYS WATCH THEM!?

That's a horrible final statement there. I have no problem with these new types of films (by new type, I assume you mean films that are more modern and hollywood-esque, like Salaam Namaste, Love Aaj Kal, etc.) But the fact of the matter is this, regardless of the type of film, you're not going to know if you like it unless you watch it. And if you hate it, you are just as much entitled to your opinion as you would be if you loved the film.

Yes, this movie does add some sense of realism not seen in older bollywood films, but at the same time, its filled with absurd, slapstick comedy jokes, that very few over the age of 10 would find funny. I'm sorry, but a fat black girl throwing Akshay Kumar around just isn't funny. It's plain stupid.

The theater where I watched the movie (in Delhi), lot of people left the hall mid-way, disgusted with the movie. And after finishing the movie, I felt like a fool why I did't leave the hall early.

Thank God, the movie was cut short for whatever reason. The 140 mins in itself were like a torture... I cant imagine to having watched it any longer.

This movie is dumb, and thats a widely accepted fact. I hope not many non-Indians watch it, coz they will know how bad are we in making films even with the biggest budget and even bigger cameos.

"brilliant" is not the word i would use ... it was ok, nothing near what bollywood can produce. the reason i didn't like it is because if they keep putting it movies like this out i feel they just damage their credibility honestly.

First of all.i didnt even bother reading all of ur post because it was really stupid since the first line where u said "i think the movie was brilliant" . I dont know if i am getting the definition of brilliant wrong in my dictionary or you are just really damn stupid. If you dont know, this movie is copied from a tamil movie called Pammal K.Sambandham starring kamal hasan. Secondly, there were just one or two giggles here and there, but thats about it, it was all a crap fest all the way. Akshay keeps doing the same kind of roles again and again and kareen is in every god damn movie now and i am hating that. Wait, i just read ur last line while typing this post where u wrote that you gave this movie a 9. Its because of people like you this movie gets even a 3 rating out of 10. Akki fans. ANd i have to end by saying, they wasted Sylvester stallon, poor guy didnt know he was acting in a Sh***y movie. OK, i am done. I hate big-budget cinema, while those contemporary cinema suffers due to movies like these. Those top notch actors and directors who are "real" heroes are the ones to be appreciated. Directors like anurag kashyap, dibakar banerjee and prayas gupta who made siddhart- the prisoner. I salute those people.

I just saw it yesterday, and it was funny.

Couldn't tell half the time what would happen next.

Kareena was something else. Plays the Ice Queen the best!!

id give it a 5/10.. but the guy calling this movie brilliant needs to get out more often. Jaaved jafferey was very funny should have had a larger role. Kareena looked good & played her part well. Akki was awful.. i mean this guy is the king of uncool, his dialogue delivery is like someone with late stage alzheimers.. cmon man is there a bone in his body that can act??

the movie wasnt brilliant but i still thought it was good. i mean its too much like america movies now so that took most of the fun out of the movie. why cant they say hindi bad words? why do they need to have american weddings? i thought they were hindus. so.......plus, it took me forever to really get into the story and understand. the songs were good though.

I LOVE THE JONAS BROTHERS!!!<3

Are you high on something or just retarded? This movie was pure crap. The movie had no connection at all, worst screenplay. I mean the 90% of the screenplay didn't have any relation to the actual scene. Really bad acting with unnecessary characters. This movie is one of the crappiest movie made in bollywood of all time.

Most ridiculous thread I have ever read on the internet...It was close to Hollywood comedy??? U jus insulted alot of peeps mate...sort out ur taste

I thought the movie had its good moments & its bad moments. I love the way they wrote the movie but hated the way they performed the movie. Kareena Kapoor was brilliant. Akshay kumar and his "clic" were a little to over the top and made the original excitement of watching this movie turn into a "uh oh" moment. I do love that stallone beats a guy up with a parking meter....That is bollywood greatness right there. But i think overall that bollywood needs to stop trying to imitate hollywood (like they've done so much lately) and start doing something original. Stop tring to make everything like its a hollywood movie cuz it really ruins it when all the cheap effects and the bad or over the top acting kicks in. If they had made this a dark comedy with more drama....(and had sly in it a lot more) I think it could have made itself into a fine movie...but unfortunetly showing us, yet again, bollywood can't make a movie anymore without attempting to look like hollywood. 6/10 is my rating. I am glad i didn't pay money for this movie!!!!

P.S. if you guys wanna watch a great film or two? Look up Jashnn & New York. No great bollywood actor and no great hollywood wannabe BS. just good old hindi movie goodness.

If I seem Superhuman, I have been misunderstood!

I am not going to pretend to be a critic here but this was a horrible movie. The only enjoyable bits were Javed Jaffery and the scene where AK walks out all soaped up to shout at his neighbour. I laughed out loud then. Apart from that the entire movie felt like it was put together by some kindergarten kids in a lab.

I never leave in the middle of a movie. However, there have been only 2 movies that I have seen in my lifetime in which I got up mid-way and left. One was Tashan and the second was Kambakkht Ishq (we'll leave the coincidence that both had Akshay and Kareena).
This movie was pure torture. The only reason me and my friends went to watch this trash in the hall was because the Producer's strike had just been called off and this was the first movie released after it. We were so desperate for a new movie that we jumped onto the bandwagon. We went on the 4th day after release and there were hardly 20 people there...and by the time we got up to leave some 1 hour into the movie, there were 5 ppl left apart from us.
An extremely disappointing....ah heck, I don't even want to articulate myself.
This was a bad year for the industry..
at least we had stuff like Kaminey, 3 Idiots, Dev D, Luck By Chance and Love Aaj Kal (to some extent) to salvage the abysmal situation.
