The ammount of shougun traps I dissarmed in this game...why can you not pick up any of the shotguns?

I think I'd find this game a lot less scary if you could use shotguns because if i had a shotgun I'd shot f@cking everything that moved lol.
When i first played this game i found combat quite tricky but i've got the hang of it now.

I always found that really dumb, how you can't take out the shotgun traps and use the shotguns.
shareif you look at the movies the guns are always bolted or welded to the wall or something, so you couldn't just take them off and keep moving.
