Excellent. Spaced UK is available on DVD in the U.S. Just buy that and enjoy.

Hardly anything that was first done in the UK and "remade" in the U.S. has made it. Not everything can be "The Office." And come to think of it, in recent years, that's the ONLY thing that's easily crossed over.

Thank God... I can't take another great Brittish comedy being butchered by American producers. I still cringe every time I see Steve Carrell trying to be Ricky Gervais.

Steve Carrell said that he never watched the British Office, so it would be hard for him to do an imitation.

thank god was also the first thing i said when i read that this was cancelled. however, i'm gonna have to agree with these other two in defending the US Office. i love both versions of the office for different reasons. the US version is a great show on its own - and has been since the last couple of episodes of the first season when it stopped trying to be the british office. michael scott is a very different character from David Brent so i don't see where he's "trying to be Ricky Gervais"...

people who say they don't like it have either a) not seen it b) have only seen the first couple of episodes or c) have seen it and have to pretend like they don't like it 'cause it's a great show that stands on its own.

Or they just didn't like it. Whine all you want, there are people who hate The Godfather. I got the first season and saw that, and was very disappointed - its strongest points were ported from the British series. I'm still open for more, but so far all I've seen was a rip-off.

Glad this is cancelled, btw. They should do a third series instead of a remake.

that's my point; you just watched the first season - 5 or 6 episodes?. the show didn't come into its own until the second season (which is better than anything on TV in the last 4 years other than AD). watch the second season and not with the mindset that "this is just a ripoff". let the characters and stories develop on their own and i'm fairly certain you will like it.

and people who hate the godfather? impossible. i just refuse to believe this.

I thoroughly enjoyed Spaced. That being said, i'm ambivalent to an american remake. just for the fact that it's a remake of a show we all love and revere doesnt mean it will be a bad show in its own right.
