Only 89 minutes?

That's a little disappointing, especially if it turns out to be good, which I believe it will.

We're meant to lose the ones we love. How else would we learn how important they were to us

Well there have been great "short" movies before, so who knows?

I mean, look at Eisenberg's Squid and the Whale. That's 88 minutes but feels so much longer. It can be a good thing. In my opinion, its better it be short and sweet than too long and overreaching.

i think this is a great sign. I hope movies start movie towards short and concise. These 3 hour epics are getting tiresome. Certain movies need to be 2.5+ hours but its rarely necessary.

90 minutes is a great length for a film.

And how long should a novel be? How many pages? What is the best dimension for a painting? Is Beethoven's Fifth too long? Too many notes?

I completely agree with buff-29 on this one, who is to say what is the correct amount of anything with a form of art; a form of expression?

None of what buff-29 applies to what the other poster said though. They said SOME movies go too long, not all, which I agree with. Many movies today pad their run-times with nonsense scenes just to hit that 90 minute mark, some are 2 hrs long and don't even need to be 90.

As they said, SOME movies do need to be 2.5 to 3 hrs, but many need to give it up and do some REAL editing (which is usually the problem - the director being too in love with their own work to know what's solid and what's wasted frames) and they would flow 100x better...

"Did you mean for all those words to come out like that or did they just fall out randomly?"-H.H.

reply

Dude... 89-90 minutes is the average running time for a movie nowadays. I'd be dissappointed if it was anywhere under 90 minutes. (don't get me started on those 82-85 minute movies. ugh.) it's a decent runtime.

89 or 85 minutes, its plenty of time for this trite, predictable, very average film.
