Why kicked out of Olympus?

Does the pilot episode explain why "Cupid" was kicked out of Olympus and has to make the matches before he can return?

Well,I haven't seen the first episode, but I did watch the second one.
And I must admit that it was pretty funny. And in the second episode Carnivale says he got kicked out because he did things his own way that made him arrogant.

In one scene in which the psychiatrist is angry with him for meddling he seems to realize that mount Olympus maybe right. Until it is proven that he was right al along.

In the original version, creator Rob and his producers had radically different opinions over whether Trevor was a real Cupid or a looney.

I assume that the argument continues to this day, so it's impossible to answer the "why" or even "if" he was kicked out of Olympus! That's likely something that will be decided as the character reveals its own direction.

It's kind of a neat idea, though -- knowing that Cupid himself will be directing how the show will evolve -- don't you think!!!

I think it was because he got too...lazy? and was just shooting arrows in whoever he wanted. He got too "free" with his arrows and needed a reminder on what exactly it was he was doing.

If I remember correctly, it was because of the state love was in today. How he needed to get back in touch with his craft. It was mentioned on in another episode I think how he would shoot all these arrows and "see what sticks."

Ms. Taylor: Why are you touching dead, naked people?
Jimmy: Well you see I work in autopsy
