Same Name?

In the second episode with Erik Palladino, did anybody notice who was the father of the girl he was dating? The character he played was Grayson Davis. In the movie "School Ties" he played Matt Damon's father, Grayson Dillon. They couldn't come up with a new or original first name for the guy?

I've seen actors play characters with the same first name all the time, it doesn't mean it's the SAME character though. It could either just be pure coincidence or a nod to the actor's previous roles.
