Sarah Paulson is one of the least likable actors on television

I can't believe somebody so cold and irratating would get the female lead in a romantic comedy series. Her annoying lisp and flat acting are really ruining this show.

reply

Yea. plus she's gay. Too weird.

reply

I don't think her being gay has anything to do with her bad acting skills. I hope that was just a lame attempt at a joke.

Look at Neil Patrick Harris, he's gay, but he's known for roles where he plays a womanizer, and does it really well.

Let's just say Sarah Paulson is a bad choice cause she's .... a bad choice.

Sarah is fine, but they couldn't have cast a worst actor to play Cupid. Honestly, talk about least appealing actor to put in a lead role. Look no further than Bobby Cannavale, who should be no more than a background character in a well casted series.

reply

"least likable"
Because they look like actual people?
And what does her sexuality have to do with anything?

reply

really? i thought they were both fitted nicely for their roles... she doesnt bother me, and that says something bc usually everyone bothers me, and he's perfect for it!

reply

The past tense of "cast" is cast.

I agree, I like both of them. So what if she's gay.

Huh. I've been watching since the pilot and really love the show. I think they are both doing a brilliant job. :)

reply

I don't see any problem, I like them both.

I didn't like the "Claire" character either. I know nothing about the actress portraying her so nothing about it is personal. Though I did see someone wrote she was gay which makes her great in my book. Ah, now where am I gonna get my Cannavale fix?

Wait a minute! I smell liquor on my breath: You're drunk!

I totally agree with you YoungNation! I didn't like her character either and I honestly just don't like her acting and I feel that she was definitely miss cast in this show (and I had no idea she was gay! I literally just found out reading this post so my feelings toward her character have nothing to do with her personal life either). I also agree with you about the Cannavale fix...I'm really sad we won't get to see the hotness that is Bobby every week :( Then again, I do dvr every episode of will & grace and when he shows up, the show becomes even more amazing! lol

Andy: You know what, maybe you're in the ceiling.

i agree, i didnt warm up to the doctor character, and i really really kept trying. she would annoy me. she was such a naysayer. i dunno i just didnt like her all that much. she had some good moments. nothing to do with her acting, her acting was fine. i think it was just her character. i know where the writer were going, someone who is skeptical and stiff, but it just didnt work for some reason

I'm in the minority who actually saw the original version when it aired eleven years ago (though I only watched it cuz it was paired with the fantastically dark "Fantasy Island" remake, which was more addictive than meth). In the original, Paula Marshall and Jeremy Piven had fantastic chemistry -- that's why the show worked and developed a devout cult following (though much like "Fantasy Island," it didn't develop beyond "cult" because ABC buried the shows on Saturday nights).

Cannavale is no Jeremy Piven, but he has enough charisma that he was acceptable in the title role -- however he and Paulson had zero chemistry... and Paulson seemed totally disinterested in being there. Paulson was good playing a ghost in "American Gothic" (the only show I'm familiar with her in) but she was completely and utterly miscast here. And like everyone else, I had no idea she was gay (which would hardly sway my opinion of her performance anyway). I wouldn't call her an unlikable actress, but she was pretty unlikable in this short-lived remake.
