I prefer Jeremy Piven

My apologies to those who like this new version, but I really prefer the 1998-99 version starring Jeremy Piven. He really has/had the charisma, charm, cuteness and impishness, and I think he hit the mark better than Bobby Cannavale.

I'll keep watching to see if this will grow on me (plus there's nothing else on in this time slot right now that appeals to me), but I'm still missing Jeremy.

Just my two cents.

You only like the original better because you have good taste.

I like Bobby Canavale but he isn't doing anything for me as Trevor.

And the main thing I was hoping would come out of this new version, a dvd release for the original, doesn't seem like its happening.

I was pleasantly surprised w/ Cannavale, but Piven nailed the role. Unfortunately, Sarah Paulson -- who really got to show her talent in Studio 60 -- doesn't seem to get much to do but act annoyed.

You know I always thought Paula Marshall was too much of a wet blanket but the more I see this one it is just her role and she is much better and much more human and real than Paulson's character.

Totally agree. I actually like the re-make too, but it's not as good as the original. Jeremy Piven NAILED the role of Trevor/Cupid. Cannavale was okay, but he couldn't hold a candle to Jeremy. Waayyy prefer the original Claire too. It was interesting to watch a slightly different take on the show though.
