The reason this show will be a success.......

.......two words: SARAH PAULSON!

actually i was thinking that's the exact reason why this WONT be a success. I love her and watch everything she's in but Jack and Jill, leap of faith, studio 60 all good shows but all cancelled. Hope this will be different.

I loved Studio 60 sooooo much!

Wow that’s funny because I was thinking the exact opposite. She is an amazing actress. But from the trailer alone, it looks as if she will not be able to pull of this role. First of all she’s blonde. Not putting down blondes but the stereotype will not make her believable as a therapist/aspiring author. Also I think Sarah Paulson is too hot. She’s looks like a borderline blonde bombshell instead of a smart intelligent person who happens to be just a bit sexy as Paula marshal was.

Yeah she just doesn't seem right for the part and neither does the guy they got playing Cupid. all I could think while watching the pilot is that the Irish Guy and the Reporter Girl would have been much better in the lead roles.

I agree about the Irish Guy and the Reporter Girl. However, I think the real problem is not appearance (though I actually have a harder time with Bobby Cannavale than Sarah Paulson- of course, I am a NATURAL blond - as he comes off as more pretty boy than this charmer who would get the entire staff enamoured with him) but the chemistry between the two.

I couldn't feel it. Despite that they were making all the right facial expressions and gestures, all of the lines just came across as contrived and unnatural. When actors have a chemistry together, you become so wrapped up in it that it isn't until the end that you "realize" they're acting. It's just a shame because - relatively objectively - the acting was fine and some of the dialogue was really good (though with a lot of it, I kept thinking "I've heard that before. Was it just somewhere else or did he just take that from the original scripts?"). It is just that je ne sais quoi that comes from smart casting, not smart actors.

It was actually annoying, not enjoyable. Shame, because I had just been saying that there is not enough shows this season that I enjoy watching... and I am usually a fan of Rob Thomas - the kind who just starts watching a show and discovers later it was the same guy who created X and Y and Z that I liked.

You forgot American Gothic. She was in that and it failed as well. Piven and Marshall were the best. This is a cheap knock off. It won't last. I will give it a chance, but it won't be as good as the original.

Given the ratings of the first episode, something tells me this isn't going to be an issue soon.

I actually like Sarah in most of the things she has done, but I definitely think she was the weak link in this show.
