Just watched the Pilot

This show, by all means, is not the greatest, but it was cute, funny, and has a happy ending. It seems to be missing something that makes it great. The acting isnt the greatest, the lead actress is just....i dont know...dont much care for her as a character. For those that dont believe ive seen it i dont care, i just did a survey on U TALK BACK where i watched the pilot and gave my opinion. It was worth watching. For guys, good to watch with a lady. For ladies, good to watch in general. About a guy who thinks he is cupid and has to match up 200 people or 100 couples. Has to be true love though. He has a shrink that thinks he is full of it. Overall the pilot seems to be rushed. I was happy with the end result but it seemed like they could have made it a two hour premiere episode so you could get a better feel for the story and characters. They just shoved it all in one hour episode. I would rate the pilot a 6/10. If there is nothing else on then definately watch this. I for one will be watching Rescue Me, Sons of Anarcy, Shield, and Heroes when this show airs.

Wow. You think it, too, will be one of the best-written shows ever on television?

bad casting, the lead guy is not going to be able to pull it off they should have gotten someone like tom cavanaugh.

Tom Cavanaugh would have been good.

I think the word you are looking for is "dikey"...

there's a *chance* that people are in need of an uplifting, optimistic just plain happy show these days...not violent, not overly sexy or trashy, no mention of recession or economic downturn etc. don't get me wrong - I am TOTALLY "a glass half empty" kinda person but I happened to watch the pilot (was not in the mood for another violent ep of CSI Miami) and was pleasantly surprised to watch something just "happy" for a change! just my 2 cents...

What it's missing is the original Cupid, Jeremy Piven. If you haven't seen the original, you must because it is great.

No thanks! Why bother watch an "original" from 10 years ago? If it isn't on now all that comes of a 10 year old CANCELLED show is people complaining & comparing. No two shows with different actors will ever please anyone. Sooooo I choose to just watch a positive new show and not care about a show that was on 10 YEARS AGO~

You don't know what you are missing. I would put it on the top of a list best shows ever to be cancelled, up there with Firefly. A series' success can be affected by far more things than quality,ie. time slot and the networks dedication to the show. Besides I am guessing this version won't even make it to as many episodes as the original in the sink or swim world of t.v. today.

I see your point though. We should never watch the orignal versions of all the movies that are being remade today, since a large number of them are remakes. We should also never listen to the original versions of any songs. Really, anything over 10 years old is worhtless. Why learn about the foundations of what we see, hear and read today.

It's fun to debate, that's why people do it.

ROFLMAO....seriously? Are you calling a failed TV show starring mr.mercury poisoning a part of history? ROFLMAO....seriously? Both versions are entirely disposable television, I just enjoyed a happy little show that made for an amusing hour. I don't care what I am missing!

Well, here's my 2 cents...I really enjoyed watching this Cupid. I watch enough dramas as is, and though I love my dramas, I do need a good light-hearted show sometimes. This one was cute. I think Bobby and Sarah both did a wonderful job. The show made me laugh, which is always a plus. Really looking forward to seeing more. Hope they make it. I can't compare it to the original, because I've never seen it, but then again, I'm not a huge fan of Piven's. Don't dislike him, just don't seek him out.

Actually, the original series was AWESOME! The new version was okay but doesn't compare. And the original series was ranked by 'Entertainment Weekly' as one of the top ten shows to be pre-maturely cancelled. That's saying something. They wouldn't give that honor to the re-make. The original was a critical darling even though it never became a hit, not so with the re-make. The re-make was decent, but the original wins by miles.

I watched the pilot last night, i'm a huge fan of the original, actually i just got into it recently when i read about the remake and heard that Piven was in the original i had to check it out(Piven rules!). While it wasn't as bad as i thougth it might turn out after replacing Piven and Marshall (who is still hot as all hell on Gary Unmarried)it's somewhat lacking and i think it's moreso becuase of the new Trevor. Even trying to take him as his own and not compare him to Piven he's really weak at the performance. And is it just me or does the guy have a major lisp in some scenes? He kinda sounded like Lou Ferigno when he talks. It could just be me though I suppose. Surprisingly, I thought Sarah Paulson did a pretty good job. I agree that the guest stars had more chemistry than the leads.
