I wish the ending was a little more complete

I kind of liked it that Jill gives her husband's luggage to "the other woman" and she says, "so I guess I won" and Jill replied, "that depends on what you think you've won." I guess I wish they could have shown the husband finding out what type of woman he was getting involved with. The movie seemed sort of unfinished, including Jill finding out that her husband's boss' son became a priest.

I agree. There were too many threads left dangling--what happened to the boss's wife? What happened with the son/priest? What happened with the daughter and her real mother?

I thought the husband changed too abruptly from being nice to being a cad--we really didn't see the transition. Also, people in the movie kept saying what a nice man the boss was, when it was obvious to the viewer that the boss was mean, just from his face and expression. It was plain as day how he belittled and needled his wife. I didn't buy that the other characters didn't see it. Also, the story in the beginning looked like it was going to be about how Jill saved her marriage from the scheming assistant. Instead, it kind of fizzled at the end when she just gave up and handed him over. Also, what was the point of having us sit through the court trial several times? It didn't seem to have anything to do with the story except to act as filler. All in all, an unsatisfying movie in many ways--but very good acting and interesting characters.

I would assume that the fact that the son became a priest would help the mother. It was said that he witness the abuse and that's why he left the way he did. Even if people didn't believe the mother despite the beating that almost killed her, they would probably be inclined to believe her son. Also, I liked the way Jill dumped the luggage at Nicole's doorway and said something about who won depending on how you looked at it. I think Jill realized she'd won by getting out of her marriage to the jerk, and I think he and Nicole deserve each other. As for him changing abruptly, I think the point was that he was always a cad, he just didn't portray himself that way publicly, like Stan, the seemingly nice guy who'd been beating his wife privately for 30 years.

I didn't have an ounce of sympathy for Jill. Wasn't she the other woman in her husband's first marriage? That's the only reason why I watched this movie, other than the fact I was bored. I liked the idea of a homewrecker getting a dose of karma. Nicole was Jill's karma.

reply

The karma idea would've been great but it wasn't developed properly in the plot. For starters, Nicole wasn't in love; she was just obsessed. But Jill was in love. And it was never made clear that Jill pursued him (like Nicole did). Rather, Jill had a career already and actually made a great sacrifice to marry. Since the movie doesn't show the earlier marriage, it's entirely possible it was not a happy marriage. Shucks, it's even possible that he really was a total jerk and the 1st wife stole him from an earlier girlfriend! So maybe he was the problem, not the women.

It would've been karma if Jill had been an obsessive superficial twit like Nicole but that was not the case.

Of course, I have to agree that falling in love with a married man is just stupid. But that's not enough on which to base a good Lifetime movie.

I don't know. I thought it was kind of hot when Nicole told Jill "I'm going to marry your husband", with a smug face when she said it. Like it already was a done deal.

I agree. She was the other woman in his first marriage and admitted that she knew he was married. Also later, during the affair, she found out that he had a daughter but still carried on the affair with him before he divorced his first wife. She got exactly what she deserved in him. He cheated on his first wife so what did she expect from him upon marrying him? She was exposed to his true character when they were having an affair so she shouldn't have been surprised that he then cheated on her. It doesn't say much about her character as well.

I agree. i have it on again today on my day off.(since nothing else is on right now i m wtaching)as i laugh at some of it,i LIKE some of it,but the ending was a lil too bland for
me,but i m happy we know she left him and did NOT have to run/look back at this jerk lol

He was as most losers nice in the beginning, but i always knew he most likely would be a creep! lol
