Manager instead of Teller..

Why are these dummies giving the tellers the extra $540.00 she doesn't have the authority to call a maintenance crew?..At least not in any bank I've used.. Any normal half wit would take a complaint of this nature to the bank manager who has the authority to call for a crew to repair the ATM in question...never would a teller have the authority..this is a major flaw in the writing...Of course then the story couldn't proceed as the writer needed it too....But another way could be researched to achieve the same outcome as the teller bolting with the $540.00,
just a thought.

You are absolutely right that the best course of action would have been to go to a manager. However, just because a teller doesn't have the authority to call maintenance it doesn't mean they didn't have a reasonable expectation that she would notify the manager who in turn would call for repairs.
But in regards to it being a flaw in the writing I have to disagree there. These guys are junkies and make mistakes. While they are sitting in the car that is made perfectly clear.
