Tyler Perry's films are for fans who never could see the plays

That is the only reason, is to reach a larger audience (of people who would see his plays).

For the record, the Madea plays sold out every show on every run more than MOST Broadway plays. Because of the limited, sold out runs, he decided to take it to film to reach more of the same audience.

And the black community supports the films.

This film made 90 million in its 3 month run. Wow.

He was inspired by Eddie Murphy (Nutty Professor) to create Madea and his other characters.

Watching the plays you will get a better understanding of where this is all coming from. You see alot of nonsense on this board from people who would never see the plays in the first place, so it's all pretty pointless.

The only way for Perry's films to NOT be successful is for the black community to not support it. The fact of the matter is critics such as many seen on this board, don't really know how to do it.

Sort of like the election.

I said it. It is what it is. And it is beautiful!
