THE GIRL DESERVED TO BE SMACKED!!!!

Oh boy I was waiting for the woman activist, male bashers, you call it make comments about the "DOMESTIC ABUSE' scene and all that BS. That was not domestic violence, that was a good olde azz whooping, cut down to size that was well deserved. If he went crazy on her, then that would had been abuse but he didn't do that. She deserved it!!! I don't care what nobody says!!! 95% of you would do the same this if you'll were in his shoes.

reply

I'm a woman and I agree. Though because so many people are practically blowing a gasket over it. I think TP should have had the mother or sister hit her. Cause she walked all over them too and it probably would have been better accepted than her husband hitting her.

reply

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

I went to see this movie with some girlfriends of mine and they were offended by that scene. I totally disagreed. I felt she had what was coming to her.
If he had been abusive throughout, that is a whole different story because I don't think that men should abuse women. Look what she did to him? I think anybody's natural reaction would be to strike out.

YOU MADE ME PLAY SECOND BASE!

reply

These man bashers and woman activists need to get a grip. Normally, I'd say he was wrong but she had it coming. It probably WOULD HAVE been more appropriate if the sister or mother had done it, but at that point I really did not give a damn who did it. Then after she told him the child was not his, he could have hit her again for all I care.

reply

The Andrea character "deserved" to be hit PURELY BECAUSE of the way she was written, so really, Tyler Perry IS advocating domestic violence by creating a character who was so completely awful. It seems in all his movies, he has to have at least one character who is just pure evil, who we can all hate (it's not always a woman - in "Why did I get Married?" it was the "Mike" character), and we can "cheer" when they "get what's coming to them." It's so totally one-dimensional, simplistic, and WAY over the top.

reply

Let's call a spade a spade: Andrea got what she deserved. And frankly, Chris, or her mom, or her sister should've hit her a second time when she told him that William was actually the father of her son!!!

If that's not pure evil, I don't know what is!!!

reply

The sad thing is that she kept going after he hit her by throwing money at him & saying that there was plenty more where it came from & the son thing. I remember when I was listening to a radio show one time & a man had said that a woman did the same thing to him. He said that it crushed him & that is the worst thing that a woman can do to a man. I think that Andrea had it coming from somebody. Whether it be Chris, her mother, or her sister. I just couldn't feel bad for her b/c she kept throwing things in Chris' face instead of keeping her mouth shut.

reply

Hell yes!!!! That was one of the best moments in the movie, we were all waiting for someone to do it, cause we all wanted to, LOL! Loved how she flipped back and everything. WHOO HOO...I actually have a cousin who reminds me of the Andrea character! She is known as the cold hearted, rich, educated B of the family!

reply

^This, right here!

reply

The only thing inappropriate about this scene is that in addition to Chris smacking her upside her head... Her mother and sister didn't kick her while she was down. She was scum and I don't care about the whole male-basher perception of Chris, he deserved a better hand in life than the one he was dealt. I'm glad that in the end, it appeared as though he was going to get that, and ironically with the money of the man who turned down his proposal in the first place.

In "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," "Madea's Family Reunion," "Why did I get Married," Tyler Perry had a decent woman give a dirty man a well deserved butt kicking. And, does anyone have a problem with those scenes ?

So, why is it that when you reverse things, when you have a decent man abused by a dirty woman, it is Domestic Abuse" ? Are the women who think so or the people who think so, being rational here ???

What happened in "Madea's Family Reunion" was domestic abuse ? When Carlos was slapping his woman around just for having her sister over to the room, or just because he didn't know where she was, that was abuse ? But, when Chris slaps Andrea once for laying her trash on him, that was no domestic abuse. And, it should not be used to show the abuse of women. Please !!!

The only issue I might have with any of these scenes is from the "Christian" perspective of forgiving. From that view, I could probably say these acts were wrong but I can understand them.

Men hitting women is something we've been socialized to think is a big no no.

Are you sure? Put yourself in Chris's shoes for real! Your wife treats you like *beep* she puts you down, she laughs at your goals, she hides things from you, she hides YOU from her colleagues, and to top it all off she smiles as she throws in your face that your son isn't yours! You can say now that you would walk away, but I think given that you were actually in that situation, you would most definitely have reacted the same way. This is one incident where I will say that such actions were justified 10 fold.

Not all men hit though. Some can give it harder with words than their hands!

reply

ol' girl was straight up punking Chris for a good hour of so of the movie,..it wasn't a question of if, it was only a question of when.

I kinda liked the scene of her rolling over the counter top too, but to keep it real, the movie should have shown a scene of ol' boy getting arrested...either that or have her hit him first, just to keep it legit, after all he did take her money without asking.

reply

Oh, she deserved to get PUNCHED in the face with brass knuckles. She abused him with words. Her black eye will heal in time, but he will always bear the emotional scars her verbal and psychological lashings and beating he took from her hands.

I'm a black woman from the south and trust me, there are a few women who need to be smacked -- I'm talking so hard, it'll knock the taste out of their mouth.

reply

The punching with brass knuckles is taking it a lil too far u think? She deserved to be slapped, but punched with a weapon, that's abuse. I started this thread and i think he did exactly what he was supposed to do and nothing more, nothing less.

reply

LOL @ good olde azz whooping

reply

And shes gonna get a lot more...... I mean this is a fairy tale story where the "bad" people get what they deserve....but lets not forget Chris was also wrong....He stole money from her....she can straight up sue the pants off of him.... If the son turns out to be Williams she'll be getting child support also.......

Andrea may have been wrong, but so was Chris....He annoyed me the entire movie "scheming"

The only characters who i saw absolutely nothing wrong were Nick, Alice and Pam

Lets also not pretend she ended as "unfortunate" as Tyler tried to say she did....

She was a black Female with a Finance degree and 4 years of experience at a large company......

reply

How was he scheming? He only wanted to start his own company so that he could provide for his family. He didn't steal the money. It was in their joint account. I dont' agree with him taking the money w/out talking to Andrea, but if she were smart enough she would have put it in a different bank where Chris couldn't track it. Yes, she had a 4 year degree, but that company is the only place she worked at w/her degree. I don't think that Abigail would have gave her a good recommendation. Not to talk about William, he might have said something to have her black balled. I wouldn't put anything past him. Chris was legally the father to Christopher.

Yeah, she did. Abusers beat on their partner no matter what, over little things, but this wasn't the case. She hurt him badly and she didn't even care! She verbally abused her husband.
