Hits a Little Too Close To Home

I graduated school in 2006 and I gotta say, this trailer captured what the immediate post-grad feeling is like. The Devil Wears Prada captured it pretty well too.

How any self-respecting woman can support the Bible after reading 1 Timothy 2:11-15 is beyond me.

I won't graduate until late 2010 but I can relate to the feeling of not knowing if a job awaits me. All I can say is I got a degree in what I cared about, and I hope that it works out. The idea that we should major in something that is profitable when we're freshman is crazy; who knows what an industry or career will be like in 4 years?? None of the finance-related majors anticipated the mess we're in. Now they can't get hired.

As to your point- Tho I doubt the film will be any good anyway, I wouldn't see it because it def hits too close to home. I might throw up as I watch it hahaha. Anyway, Here's to hoping it gets better. I wish you luck and hope we're both employed come next year.

Tell me about it. I graduated in 2005. Since 2005 I've been let go at LEAST 9 times for budget cuts. I still think college was the worst mistake of my life.

I know what you mean I have 2 degrees and no job. All my life i was told to do well in school and go to college. What they don't tell is that if you have a college digree they will not want to give job working in a store or witressing. So what is the point of college. Good luck living though this

I'm going through this right now and I just finished school a few days ago. I wish everyone the best of luck in this crappy job market.

This film hit me strongly as well. I graduated college in 2008 and, like the girl in this movie, I couldn't find a job. I fell into a hard quarter life crisis.

I just finished law school and I'm currently studying for the bar. Not really sure what the future will bring since the job market is still pretty bad.

Just hoping for the best.

Oh thank God...I thought I was the only one. I just graduated almost 2 months ago...had to move back home, knock on every window that had a help wanted sign just hoping that someone will just take pity on me.
*Bangs head on keyboard*
But...I will remain optimistic that everything will work out.

That’s why this movie was worth watching, it was realistic.
When your in and out of work and periodically moving in and out of home or just staying at home and working because you don’t have enough money to move out it feels like crap.

Graduated at the end of 09 with 2 degrees. Have worked around 50% of the time since then.

Have friends in similar position so I guess it’s a generational issue, but they choose to live out of home and rack up debt.
A lot of people choose to leave it all behind and travel racking up more debt. At least I’m living in a developed country where the standard of living is high.

But yes currently dazed and confused.

I know what you mean.... I graduated in 2005 and it took me a long time to finally get on a road that was leading somewhere. I watched as my friends got their Masters Degrees and PHD's started amazing careers bought houses and I felt like such a loser cause I was stuck in Neutral with my life. Hard work pays off and I've now been on this road close to 3 years.

Haha, for me it's the opposite, I watched as my friends got their bachelors and started amazing careers and I feel like such a loser for finishing my Ph.D. in medical sciences.
