Brown hair in the past, blond hair in the present?

Why is it that in all of the flash back scenes, people have brown hair, but in the present they have blond hair? I'm referring to Ranmaru, Kureha, the big quiet dude, etc.

I always thought that it was just that they dyed their hair. Because Saya still has her brown hair despite the fact that she also has one of the phantoms inside her.
