How do you Tag? (XBox360)

I've heard that in order to tag your partner you have to press down on the right analog stick, but whenever I do I just end up trying to grab my opponent. Anyone know how you face your partner to make the official tag?

I'm like 50% in 24/7 and I still can't figure out how to tag either. I messed around on a two player tag just so I could focus on trying to tag and I could never get it?

annoyingly the manual doesnt tell you how to do anything!
