Wasn't this originally rated NC-17? It shows as unrated now (no doubt to avoid that NC-17 "stigma") but I'm curious as to whether anything was edited out to get rid of the NC-17. Or is it being released as originally shot? I prefer the unedited versions and have been having some luck finding those movies not dumbed down to an R rating, but hate buying a movie that's been chopped up. Another question...if it was rated NC-17 (at least initially) then why does it not show that as an original rating in IMDB? Weird how those ratings show, then go away, then sometimes come back ("Inside", e.g., did not show on IMDB as NC-17; it was listed as R-rated. Later it was listed as R with an "original rating" of NC-17). Welcome any amicable feedback, thanks!

Black Devil Doll was never submitted to the MPAA. It would surely get an NC-17 but it was never rated. To save money (the MPAA charges an arm and a leg to rate a movie) we just released it unrated.

Nothing was cut. The current release is the entire uncut film -shawn

Good to know. Thanks! I just bought this film today and am very excited to watch it. The case & insert are worth the purchase alone. I showed the case to a few friends and they are so jealous! :)

While I am impressed with the boldness of the movie, I don't think it deserved an NC-17 rating. No doubt it would though. The MPAA is much harsher on independent productions. I believe I would've submitted it just for the notoriety of having been rated NC-17. That's just me though.

It DOES deserve an NC-17. Here's why...

Puppet "cums" onto the window while jerking off to the girls washing the car.

Puppet ass-rapes a man.

The last girl to get killed... when she's crawling away, there's one shot where you can clearly see her snatch.

Those things alone, not even taking into account the racist comments, language, and non-stop nudity are enough to warrant a hard R.

You know...you're right. Plus, there are scenes of the woman tossing the doll's salad and pissing in his mouth.

If the scenes with the puppet butt-f ucking White T's corpse, ejaculating on the window and ejaculating on the corpses of the women were removed and the sex scene between the doll and Natasha shortened, this film would have received and R, but those are only MINOR cuts. In the end, only 1 1/2-2 minutes would have been cut.

LMFAO!! I've never seen this movie, but after reading what you've just described, I'm going to have to buy it! Hopefully I can get it on Amazon.
