saw it being filmed!!!

I'm from California, but have family all over. In October, we were in Damascus, Georgia (reallllly tiny place)and saw it being filmed. I didn't see any of the stars or anything. And I guess the main guy, who seemed to be in charge of everything was kind of a prick. I bet they had a lot of ppl come through to look, but honestly, we were trying to get to a family gravesite.

I haven't read the book or anything, but it sounds interesting. Definately wanna see the movie though.....

anyways, just thought I'd share that with you !! =D

The "main guy in charge" whom you felt was a bit brusque to you wasn't the director, but one of the crew members in charge of making the trains run on time. If he was a bit abrupt, it was this was the first day we had a LOT of extras and we had a lot of scenes to get done in not a lot of time. And it was supposed to be a closed set. As you noted, Damascus is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so nobody really expected spectators at that little tiny country church on one of the back roads. The most precious commodity in film making is often daylight - and it's easy to run out of it, so it's always rush-rush and not much time for small talk. Welcome to the biz. :-)

I think you'll REALLY like the movie

Well I pretty much figured that he wasn't the director lol. However, the first lady we saw who was directing traffic was very nice and told us about it, who it starred, etc. etc. And I didn't know anything about the shoot until I saw it in the paper later on. IDK if you saw the little cemetery just around the corner, but it really is my family's...and we trying to take a short cut, visit it, then hop back on the highway or whatever(on the other side) to get back home (or where we were staying anyway).
