I don't like Craig as the new James Bond

I still donĀ“t like his acting...
I think he's missing a sort of spark the other James Bond had....

any1 agree?

reply

he just doesn't suit the role period. hopefully this was his last bond and john cleese will return as q in the next one. sean connery is still the best bond

reply

thanx!
I thought I was the only 1 that thought that!!!
YES!!!!
Hopefully this was his last movie
xx

I really love Daniel Craig
I think that he is a very hands on
James Bond and he is a really good
actor...
but I do hope they bring q into the
next one he needs a gadget guy
for sure... and I think that
Sean Connery is the best James Bond
but Roger Moore is really close behind

reply

john cleese sucks they should have never put him in a bond movie. if your a true bond fan you would have read the books they are completely different then any of the movies. these movies took place he had all the fun things thats why there no Q

reply

I have never gotten into the bond-films. They are to silly and repeating. But this movie was the first bond movie i could enjoy. Hope the next one follows the same style and setting as this one..

reply

he doesn't have the charisma that a traditional james bond possesses, he's more of a thug character and i dont find that appealing.

reply

You guys are nuts! (INMO) :)

There can never be another Sean Connery. He was simply the best JB ever. But he isn't doing the character anymore.

So, whose better than Daniel Craig?

George Lazenby? Yeah, right.

Roger Moore? He turned the series into a complete farce. Played it strictly for laughs.

Timothy Dalton? Are you kidding me???

Pierce Brosnan? Not a bad actor, but he is such a pencil-neck that the series had to be re-aligned to depend totally on gadgetry. The fight scenes had no credibilty.

That leaves Daniel Craig. Not a pretty boy like Moore, Dalton or Brosnan--but a suave, debonair Bond just the same. And he has the physicality to pull off the action.

reply

He doesn't have the personality....he is just another killer!!!

reply

Just a question, how many of you haters have read the books?

he is just another killer.... WTH did you think double-o status was for? Governmental daisy thrower? Daniel Craig is closest to the books as any other Bond. You hate him, I think he is the most realistic. (nato rounds being stopped by wood excluded)

reply

I don't care for Craig either, but I don't know if I can blame him for this movie. They created your stupid typical action movie, not a bond movie. They turned him into a super action hero now. Not sure I can blame Craig for that.

reply

@sbroce I second what you say 100% but I'll even go a bit further and say that Sean Connery was a great Bond **for the '60s** !! but Hey.. that was 50 yrs ago !
If we're talking about a Bond for our age, Daniel Craig has it all.
Sean Connery was a killer too but he had this noble attitude that it's all right to kill nasty russians.. Craig has a more honest feeling about him that he just doesn't care !
In the previous Craig appearance there was a scene in which he sits under the shower with the then love-interest.. it was a beautiful moment of sympathy exchanged between equals.. a very 2008 moment. Connery's Bond I'm not sure would be able to pull this one off.
I cannot for the life of me think of any one better to do the role and I hope he comes back to do more Bonds..

cheers

Craig IMHO is the BEST JB to date.

I used to be a SC fan and thought he was the ultimate, but Craig brings a realism [as much as is allowed in any JB film] and a humanity to the role.

Unlike Connery [who is a great actor, just not the best Bond], Moore, Brosnan etc, Craig really doe's bring something new to the role, which many thought impossible.

Why is it that new is always percieved as worse? Yes in the 60's SC was the best and until Craig he had my vote, but Craig is much better NOW and resonates with the present. He brings more to the role for the 21st century than a 40 year old movie!

Looking forward to the next Craig "Bond" film ;)

I personally like Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton.

It seems that Daniel Craig lacks the gallows-humor and the casual attitude toward sex that all prior Bond actors have displayed, but that may not be his fault...perhaps it's just a sign of the times, or bad directing & bad writing. Sure, Connery is the best. I think they should use Keifer Sutherland as the next Bond, but they probably won't use an American.

"Could be worse."
"Howwww?"
"Could be raining."

reply

I have to disagree with you on this. I feel he is the second best to Sean Connery. I did not like Quantum of Solace as much as Casino Royale but I feel he does a really good job.

reply

I personally love Craig as Bond, he really brings back the raw, cold-blooded killer aspect. I also think he has alot of charm.

"Doesn't mean I say penis when I mean to say penis! I mean penis! Car! Penis! Car!"

reply

its not his last bond
the next one is 2010 or 2011
he might do a 4th

reply

am i the only one who thinks that clive owen couldve been a good bond

reply

no what makes you think that

"I personally love Craig as Bond, he really brings back the raw, cold-blooded killer aspect. I also think he has alot of charm. "

maybe i am confused here, but what do you mean by 'bring back'? in which movie did we have the 'raw, cold-blooded killer aspect' on james bond?

reply

I think James Bond is just moving on with time.
Daniel Craig's Bond is a deeper character as for me. Has more personality and feels more human.
I understand your point though. This is that character that's been alive for generations and all of a sudden they introduce something new.
Couldn't really please everyone.
