What was the point of this if they will not make another one?

Do you really need it anyway?

Just for the sake of the briliance that was the first one.

Yeah well, sometimes I think we should really let it go. Let's appreciate the first one for what it's worth, because the sequels really didn't stand up. Or the same faith as Jaws awaits.

I believe that since they didn’t have enough money to make the movie he actually wanted to make he did this sequel-prequel to see if the fan base was still there and since it is and they made money from this movie they can use the money to actually make part 4 with a decent budget.
