My review

I just finished watching Spree (2020). Directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko, the film stars Joe Keery as a rideshare driver obsessed with getting followers on social media. He decides the best way to get the attention he craves is to kill his passengers and live stream it. The film is a dark comedy and is smart, funny, and thrilling. Keery is fantastic here and the movie is fast paced, wild, and deliciously entertaining. Spree has some interesting things to say about social media and the potential dangers it can pose, but Kotlyarenko does a good job allowing the film to be fun, without getting too heavy handed. Spree is a satisfying satire that delivers a fun thrill ride for its passengers. My rating: 9 stars out of 10.
