i sat down and bought this movie through austar box office... well actually my girlfriends mother chose it. At the middle of the movie i wanted to leave the room but i stayed till the end hoping for something decent to actually happen. Out of the 2 hour movie i found maybe 1 or 2 minutes of enjoyment or rather a break from the boring film i was watching and these scenes are as follows

- Walter helping clay with the bullies
- The mother(Kathy bates) not wanting to let go of the records
- Walter going after who he thought killed his sister

these scenes only became decent in comparison to the rest of the movie

There are so many examples of bad acting and 'WTF moments' that i honestly think this is the worst movie ive ever seen... now that may sound like a big statement but its true. The only people that would like this kind of *beep* are artsy types that spend all day staring at abstract paintings that look like preschool work and trying to find deep meaning in them. crazy metaphor i know but *beep* me this film is just arghhhh... why watch it.. what is the point?

my girlfriend who has done quite a lot of study in camera work and shots and what meaning they have was getting agitated and saying ' omg whats the point ' the long drawn out paused shots of the actors... directer is trying to create some kind of feeling and emotion, let me tell you he freaking fails.

after i finished watching it i searched the net to make sure everyone else hated it but no of course it gets rave reviews here.. i was shocked. Its almost like the film makers have paid hundreds to review and thousands to rate this film.

I had one glimmer of hope that the whole movie was building to a point when Walter saw the list of potential killers i was thinking ' THANK *beep* here we go its going to get good ' but no... he puts down the list because the writers were thinking ' ooo it will be better if he looks at the list and puts it down symbolising blah blah blah blah emotion blah blah blah realism '

If you like trying to find meaning out of nothing and writing stories about your adventures watching paint dry then go right ahead watch it... if you value your sanity and dont feel like wasting two hours of your life then please steer well clear

Thank you for sharing your opinion; now educated people can save their valuable time and not have to figure out how stupid you are on their own. You've done a wonderful job of explaining to all of us how much you didn't like the film, while simultaneosly explaining how much you didn't understand it. Kudos.

Seriously, you have to actually think before speaking to sound even remotely intelligent. This garbled, rambling, illogical, and entirely incoherent mess makes you look like a redneck who wanted an action flick but decided to watch a drama (a possibility that holds more truth than any single point you've made throughout your post).

Trust me, this film wasn't award winning or anything spectacular for that matter, but damn --the cast and crew sure do have you and your girlfriend beat; even with all that studying in film, and camera angles, and what they mean, and stuff.

I feel like I should explain sarcasm but I won't, because learning something would probably invoke as much excitement within you as watching paint dry.

Yeah lucky for us, coz i just don´t have enough words in the dictionary to express how FUGGIN RETARDED the op must be. Do you watch a movie for just a couple of scenes that give you your thrills? Why don´t you try watching a film and actually following the whole story from beginning to end? I thought this movie, while not worthy of an oscar, was actually very decent. It´s great to see something like this once in a while between Predators and Expendables...

I think he was just pissed off because his girlfriend is obviously a major force in filmmaking and he's not, plus her mother picks his films for him. In other words he hears voices from an imaginary friend. He's an Aussie too, and they usually are much brighter than that; I guess he's the exception that proves the tool.
