Interesting to see two stars with SO little chemistry...

Does Michelle Pfeiffer look like she's ready to wrap up each shot as soon as possible, or what? It's like she gets NOTHING from Ashton Kutcher...and they're stuck getting lazily swept downstream for this story, occassionally coming up for air.

I've only watched through when they went to the wedding together. I don't know if I'll watch the rest...this is one of those movies you have no enthusiasm to return to...the same lack of enthusiasm its performers apparently felt.

I liked the movie and the performances. In the story both Kutcher and Pfeiffer's characters have not so long ago gone through tragedy. Pfeiffer's husband was murdered and so was Kutcher's sister. They are both wounded, vulnerable and a bit withdrawn. I also think they both have trust issues (with people in general) because of what happened to their loved ones. I think I would become the same way if any of this happened to me. I think they were trying to express those issues in their characters. So I can imagine it would be difficult to move on with life and deal, while struggling with inner conflict. I think that kind of shock and torment could definitely change how you relate to people, hence the awkward, withdrawn, trust issues portrayed here.
